Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, admitted there is Street Light Tax (PPJ) that must be paid by electricity token user. This tax is not only applied in Jakarta, but also other provinces.
The policy is applied for all provinces in Indonesia
Basuki assessed that this policy is made by central government, and Jakarta Provincial Government only follows up.
Basuki Focuses on Boosting Local Revenue
"The policy is applied for all provinces in Indonesia," he said, Thursday (9/10).
During his incumbency as Belitung Timur Regent, he ever protested this policy. In fact, the management is given to each regional government.
"Central government gives the management to each regional government," he continued.
Moreover, city's PPJ revenue will be deposited to PLN. "We also pay the electricity per point. Later, it will be changed into pre-paid method," he stated.
